Company History
O2 (Cellnet) launched in January 1985, in the first year 25,000 customers joined the Cellnet network. For the first time in 1988, Cellnet connected 100,00 customers in a year. In 1992 Cellnet launched the UK market's first consumer tariff package. In 1994 Cellnet achieved one million customers. Cellnet launched GSM Digital service and launched the UK's first mobile two-way digital fax and data service.

While the customer service and online billing sections of o2 are an absolute nightmare (to say the least!), the reception and signal levels are very good. I've been with them nearly 2 years now and will most likely stick with them for the near future.
